Lifepoint Rehabilitation recognizes 27 freestanding inpatient rehabilitation facilities and 18 acute rehabilitation units awarded on Newsweek’s list of America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers 2024

Brentwood, Tenn. (September 12, 2024) – This week, Lifepoint Rehabilitation, a business unit of Lifepoint Health, recognized 27 of its freestanding inpatient rehabilitation facilities and 18 of its contracted acute rehabilitation units awarded by Newsweek in this year’s list of America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers. This prestigious award is presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider. The awards list was announced on August 21, 2024, and can currently be viewed on Newsweek’s website.

The America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers 2024 ranking awards the leading physical rehabilitation facilities in the U.S. that were identified according to the definition of Inpatient Rehabilitation Facilities (IRFs) by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). IRFs are free-standing rehabilitation hospitals and rehabilitation units in acute care hospitals. The 25 states with the most facilities according to the CMS were ranked individually. The facilities from the remaining states were grouped into 4 regions: Northeast, Midwest, West, and South. The list is based on four data pillars:

  • Quality Metric: Data for IRFs published by the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)
  • National Online Survey: An online survey among experts with knowledge of physical rehabilitation centers (physicians, physiotherapists, doctors, clinic managers, and other health care professionals) was conducted in cooperation with Newsweek.
  • Accreditation: Data on physical rehabilitation centers provided by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and the Model Systems Knowledge Translation Center (MSKTC).
  • Google Reviews: Reviews from Google were included as a proxy for patient satisfaction.

Statista publishes hundreds of worldwide industry rankings and company listings with high-profile media partners. This research and analysis service is based on the success of statista.com, the leading data and business intelligence portal that provides statistics, relevant business data, and various market and consumer studies and surveys.
